What should you have ready when you call?
None of this is mandatory, but it makes the first conversation useful rather than twenty questions.
- Roughly what size the area is. Paces are fine, and nobody expects a tape measure.
- What is there now. Old concrete, asphalt, pavers, gravel, or bare ground. Tear-out is a real part of the price.
- What is going wrong, if it is a repair. Cracking, sinking, flaking, standing water, a lip you keep catching a toe on.
- How a truck would get to it. A backyard with a narrow side gate is a different job from one with a driveway running to it.
- Photos. Two or three, taken from far enough back to show the whole area and the house it relates to, answer more than a long description does.
- Any timing that matters: a graduation party, a closing date, a hot tub being delivered.
What happens after you get in touch?
We call you back and set a time to come out, usually within a few days. At the visit we walk the area with you, mark out where the new concrete would start and stop, look at drainage and at what the ground is doing, and talk through the options, including the cheaper one, where there is a cheaper one that would actually work. You get a written, itemized estimate. There is no charge for any of that and no follow-up pressure afterward.
If we take the job, we confirm a date, pull whatever permit it calls for, and tell you what to expect in the days before the pour: where the equipment will sit, which entrance you will be using, and what we need moved out of the way.
What do you need help with?
If you are not sure which of these it is, just call and describe it. Most people ring about replacing a worn-out drive or about a front stoop that has started to move. Others are planning ahead for outdoor space out back or weighing a decorative finish against a plain one. And a good share of our work is fixing what is already there rather than replacing it.
